The M50 will be a disaster for at least a month…you have been warned!

They told us in Belfast that the roads would be jammed with traffic when IKEA opened. Diversions were ready to be put in place. The only traffic as it happened were the police on traffic duty and the thousands of cones on the road!
Since nearly everyone from the ROI has already been to Belfast and purchased…. I wonder if the novelty has passed?
Weird, I had heard that it was delayed, as the roadworks weren’t finished, and Ikea’s opening was conditional on that….
@Grannymar I hope that the same happens here, I am only surmising from how bad the M50 traffic is on an ordinary day, how bad it might get! I doubt the novelty has passed yet, I reckon it’ll be jammed for a while.
@Elly I had heard that too but I was watching a tv programme last week looking behind the scenes at the store and talking to the new workers and how excited they are about July 27th…and it has that as the opening date on the website now too. I think once the huge job losses started hitting the news headlines, Ikea was given a huge push- probably for the job creation headlines if nothing else!
I’ll be there with bells on! Its right after my bday so Maxi has promised me a shopping spree there!
