I have been waiting for ages for snow. And today I woke up and there it was, a very light covering over the grass, I was delighted! I was a little sad that the sun came out and melted it away but there was ahige downpour of hailstones this afternoon which I loved and that has been followed by on-off showers of snow all day here.
It started to snow really heavily about 5.10pm and I, like the big child that I am, ran helter-skelter upstairs to put on my knee socks, some boots, a coat, hat, scarf and gloves, camera, phone and keys in my pocket and off I went for a wander in the park. It was wonderful! I was the only person there and I was making new footprints in virgin snow everywhere I went. The nerd in me is delighted that I finally had a use for the ‘snow’ setting on my digital camera-I was beginning to think that the little snowman icon had no purpose in life but he was a busy man today.
My hat froze on my head under all the snow, my nose ran like a tap, my toes and the fronts of my legs were frozen by the time I got home to strip off in the hallway but I still had a big silly smile on my face. The curtains are still open and I am keeping a close eye on the snow, sticking my face to the window every now and then to make sure it isn’t starting to melt. It definitely isn’t. I’m hoping it’s still there in the morning, a pretty blanket of snow. For more pictures with my snow setting of course!
Here’s a couple I took today.
